Did you know that the oldest unchanged bus route in London is the 24 line. It has run all the way from Hampstead Heath to Pimlico since 1910! Chartered buses, coach buses and other kinds of buses have been such an integral part of our society that they kind of blend into the background. why, there have been regular intercity bus service since the 1830s. These were steam powered buses that were pioneered in England (of course). Then, about one hundred years later we saw the first yellow school buses in 1939.
Chartering a bus is a great idea if you have to find a means of transportation for a large group of people. Chartered buses are great for wine tours, birthdays or even tailgating. The occasions that you can use a chartered bus for are limited only to your imagination, really!
Charter bus rentals are very affordable, too. When people use a chartered bus, they can either pay a flat fee or pay based on the mileage used during their rental. Plus you can save money on gas, too. Using a chartered bus is much cheaper than paying to gas up several different cars.
Before you do decide to rent a chartered bus, I would recommend that you check with the Better Business Bureau whether a charter bus company has any pending complaints or not, just to make sure you know what you are getting into before hand.
I would definitely recommend getting a chartered bus for whatever your next big occasion is. I hired one for my 21st birthday the other month. Nobody wanted to be the designated driver, so we wound up getting the chartered bus, and it actually made all of the plans that much simpler.
Has anyone ever used a chartered bus? What was your experience like? Did you enjoy it? If you had to convince someone it was a good idea, what would you tell them? Leave your story in the comments!
